Morteza Bagheri earned a PhD from the University of Waterloo, Canada, and did his postdoctoral research at McGill University, Canada. He received his M.Sc. degree at Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden.
He is an Assistant Professor of the School of Railway Engineering at Iran University of Science and Technology , and his fields of research interest include, Transportation Safety, Risk Analysis and Safety Management, Multimodal Transportation and Management of Logistics and Transportation.
Dr. Bagheri is currently a member of multiple research institutes such as the Interuniversity Research Centre on Enterprise Networks, Logistics and Transportation (CIRRELT); Society for Risk Analysis (SRA); Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE); Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE); American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and Canadian Operational Research Society (CORS).
Recently, he was a co-Chairman of The third International Conference on Recent Advances in Railway Engineering (ICRARE2013).
