Maciej Dutkiewicz of Polish National Railways has declared that it is not clear at present why the SKM (Fast City Rail) service collided with the Masovian Railways train.

The accident occurred at about 5 am on Monday, resulting in delays on one section of the line.

Railway security guard Pawel Boczek has confirmed that the three injured people were the drivers of both trains and an engineer from the SKM train.

All three have been taken to hospital.
