In the summer of 2024, Transportation Systems and Logistics (TSL) Research Lab is hosting Namita Narang, a student in Computer Science and Engineering from Manipal University Jaipur, India. She is working on machine learning algorithms for an accident database. The plan is to submit the preliminary results to the 104th TRB Annual Meeting on January 5–9, 2025.

Recently, TSL hosted several international students through the IAESTE internship program with several achievements:

-Badria Haas from Austria: Our results have been published in Sustainable Rail Transport. Proceedings of RailNewcastle 2017, now available on Springer: https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-319-78544-8tps://lnkd.in/gwp_GAur

-Andreas Burger from Germany: Our idea won the UIC Digital Award in 2022

-Sara from Sultan Qaboos University: She and our team traveled to Kish and Qeshm Islands in the Persian Gulf to collect data for her analysis.
